The Sphere team is seeking a Junior Software Developer. The Jr. Developer will have a strong, technically diverse background with a technically agnostic mindset.  The engineer will be directly responsible for development deliverables, and maintenance of high quality software components and applications. Jr. Software Engineer reports directly to the Principal Software Engineer.

Day to Day:

  • Develop significant technology initiatives end to end and across multiple products while owning the code base.
  • Uses best practices for software development within an Agile framework.
  • Deliver technical design and implement highly available, scalable, and secure web services with excellent quality
  • Partner with other groups both inside and outside of Sphere Access for cross-functional design and solution integration
  • Continuous learning, experimenting and applying cutting edge technology and software paradigms
  • Actively stay abreast of SaaS/PaaS trends and standards, recommend best practices and share learning
  • Pursue and resolve complex or unchartered technical problems and share key learnings


  • Pursue and resolve complex or unchartered technical problems and share key learnings
  • Familiar with web development technologies like JavaScript, Angular, React.js,
  • Proficient in back end development languages such as Python or .NET
  • Familiar with various systems development lifecycles (SDLC, Agile)
  • Strong sense of OOP software design concept.
  • Exposure to relational database like PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc. and complex queries.
  • Prior experience with AWS or Google cloud is a plus.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Self-learner, technology advocate eager to work on any challenge
  • Demonstrated capability in Prudential Leadership Competencies: especially Strong Moral Compass, Taking Appropriate Risks, Collaboration, and Execution
